Hey friends & fans, we are excited to announce that our new album 'Arrivals & Departures' will hit stores July 3rd worldwide through Victory Records. We have just over a week left of tracking to complete everything. So far it's been a great experience and all of the songs have turned out better than ever imagined.

In the meantime, we keep announcing dates for our summer-long tour with Rise Against. There are still plenty of US dates to be announced, plus a few headlining shows. Shortly before that we will be heading over to Europe for a few headlining shows and festivals. Check our tour dates often!

See you out on the road soon enough, we definitely miss playing shows!

HOLLYWOOD IS BLAZIN'.
You know what sucks? Giant forest fires by your apartment.

We have been living in North Hollywood for over a month now while making our new album. Today we woke up, went to the studio, started tracking - however, Neil decided to stay back for a few hours to do laundry. Bill and I went to get our daily smoothies and came back to the studio to hang out. Moments after Neil calls and tells us about the forest fire... right by our apartment! I tell him I am going to drive back and pick him up so he can be safe. However, while driving back I see the biggest fire and cloud of smoke I have ever seen (looked like something straight out of a movie). As I get off the highway at our exit for the apartment, I noticed a police barricade preventing me from driving down to our apartment. This is when I started to take some videos on our Buzznet phone to capture what was happening (http://silverstein.buzznet.com/user/video). All day we have been wondering if our apartment was going to burn to the ground or not, and what was going to happen to Neil. Luckily he is safe and sound, they are containing the fire, and we are still just waiting around. However, guitars continue to be tracked and the album continues to come together! Fires aren' t stopping Silverstein.

Hey everyone, we wanted to let you know that we have been working hard on the studio and it's continuing to go very well. Drums and bass are finished and we are already into tracking guitars. We have a little over 3 weeks left of tracking before we're all done.

Silverstein in the studio – New Album in July!
Update #1 – March 2, 2007

Hello everyone! We've been living in L.A. for almost a week now and today we completed pre-production for the new album. Our producer, Mark Trombino, has been helping us to make all of the songs the best that they can be. We have written a total of 15 songs for the new album but are unsure how many will make the final album. Regardless, we're really excited about all of the new material and are confident that all of our fans will be too. Next to us in the rehearsal studio all week was Dio and Black Sabbath rehearsing which gave us a bit of extra encouragement and inspiration! Our sessions have been fueled by a lot of smoothies and great vegan cuisine since California has the best food. All around we’ve been having a fun time out here and are looking forward to begin tracking next week. We’ll be living out here for almost 2 months so some of you may see us poking our heads around some shows and hanging out. It feels good to be in some warm weather and working on a new album finally. Many more updates to come!

Today we fly to sunny Los Angeles to abadon the wintery mess of Canada and dedicate ourselves to recording our new album! All of the new songs sound great and we're really excited about how everything has turned out in the writing process. We begin pre-production for the album on Monday and will be working on the album until the end of April. We are very excited to share these new songs with all of you! It feels weird having not toured in so long, but we promise that we'll be touring all over the world as soon as this album is finished. Hang tight and you will have new music from us by the summer. Skate 4 Cancer and Silverstein are teaming up to launch The Cure Is Knowledge in Toronto on February 16, 2007 at The El Mocambo. The Cure Is Knowledge is the focus of Skate 4 Cancer and its purpose is to eliminate destructive elements from our close society.

This all ages event is free with the purchase of a Cure Is Knowledge t-shirt. These t-shirts are intended to send out bold messages to educate our society about how our greatest plan in our search for a cure is prevention.

The Cure Is Knowledge stands to propose early practice and early detection towards signs of cancer. This includes mandatory check-ups, blood tests and full examinations. The Cure Is Knowledge also hopes to create informative cancer programs within high schools.

This is achievable via government legislation; we will advance our health and educational standards to the Canadian government with supportive petitions and drafts. Ultimately, these motions will attain a national scope.

We have a personal obligation to maintain our health. By this, we must educate ourselves with the greatest degree of knowledge, concerning prevention methods and healthy lifestyle. We are also responsible for the wellness of the future generation. Our personal and collective preventative efforts today will impede the cancer of tomorrow.

The Cure Is Knowledge stresses that the greatest issue is our commitment to our health and our actions towards tremendous change. Your involvement is far more valuable that any kind of financial contribution. The way in which we live our lives is the way in which we will bring about change, not through money.

We are extremely excited to be involved in the launch of this great campaign, as well as to be able to play a fun exclusive show with tons of great bands and friends during our time off at home to write a new album!

SILVERSTEIN RETURNS WITH A NEW ALBUM - SUMMER 2007

Silverstein closed out 2006 with a hugely successful headlining tour, spanning the entire USA and parts of Canada. In addition to supporting such successful acts as Underoath and Simple Plan, the band also made appearances on the Vans Warped Tour, Taste of Chaos, and the Take Action tour. They played to audiences in a total of 15 countries increasing their fan-base around the world.

Extensive touring and hard work has paid off for Silverstein as last year they received the JUNO nomination for Best New Group of the Year. Their two previous full-length albums have sold over 400,000 units and they have seen over one hundred diehard fans proclaim their dedication with Silverstein tattoos.

Since wrapping up their last tour in December, Silverstein been locked up in the cold Canadian winter writing songs for their next full-length offering. Fans can expect a diverse record pulling in all of the bands' musical influences and applying their usual melodic aggressive sound. They will hit the studio in March with producer Mark Trombino (Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, etc.). The currently untitled album will hit stores worldwide this summer through Victory Records.

This spring the band will make an appearance at the Bamboozle Festival in New Jersey and plan to tour Mexico for the first time. Fans can also expect to see Silverstein on a full North American tour this summer.

Bill and I came down to NYC for the weekend to attend Anthony from Bayside's wedding. If you are unfamiliar with Bayside, check them out! They rule and have a new record coming out next month... their music will change your life. Besides the wedding and hanging with good friends, we did a lot of shopping and over-ate a lot of sweet vegetarian food. We will be heading out to L.A. to record on March 1st, so if anyone can recommend any good food places or want to do lunch - hit us up! (ps. Hey everyone and welcome to our brand home on Buzznet.com! This is going to be the place where we'll be updating frequently with news, short stories, pointless facts and a bunch of embrassing photos / videos. We're currently hibernating through the cold Canadian winter. For some reason the first real snow fall hasn't happened until today (I guess we have global warming to thank?).
